Cool.

These heat shrouds look mint in the flesh

So, I want a set of the heat shrouds, Si wants a set and so do two others. It takes about 2.5 hours to print each set. I’ll leave it another week or so and if I get no more interest then I’ll make the four sets and that’s it - I’m not intending to revisit the enterprise.

One more fancy resistor you need to buy!

Post by YNWaN »

So, Si has discovered that after you have replaced all the RIAA resistors (four in total - per channel) and the loading resistor and the one next to that - after that, there is one more resistor that is in the signal path. Of course there are loads of other resistors, but they are not directly in the signal path. This last resistor is on the Calvin boards and is R27. So, of course, in for a penny in for a (few hundred) pound(s), so I have bought a pair of these R27 Z-foil resistors. This time I bought mine from HiFi Collective who have this value in stock. Anyway, I’ve not fitted them yet, only got them today. So that should really be that for the expensive resistors. Perhaps I’ll look next at having some Teflon capacitors custom made to the correct values.....

No prob, you are already one of the people I had counted (together with Rexton, Si and myself).

ha ha, teflon caps to the right value. Say goodbye to at least £500. They are only a tiny bit better than styrenes in terms of DA and very much worse in inductance.

Yeah, it was intended as a, rather dry, joke. I’m not going to do anything of the sort.

I’d love to join the list if I may please
