I did some more listening last night and the overall sound is just so ‘liquid’, there really is no hint of electronic artifice - yet it doesn’t sound at all blunted or rolled off.

I’ve actually never heard this aspect that my system is now producing producing before. What I mean is that it sounds really up-front, vivid and DYNAMIC, as it was before - yet super sweet and ‘lyrical’!

I was discussing all of this with Si the other night (not for the first time). The Paradise started life as a basic DIY Audio group buy. Many of the people who buy these kits are serial makers of electronic kits - they aren’t ‘nut job audiophiles’ in the way I am. What they like is the challenge of making electronic kits/projects, it doesn’t really matter what. The raw circuit boards were cheap (circuit boards are) and often people ordered two ot three sets just in case they messed them up etc. In addition, a lot of these DIY kit builders have very limited experience of comparative commercial products. So they built it and think ‘yeah, sounds okay, but they don’t really have any idea as to how good it really sounds - anyway, they usually have a new kit that needs building....

I suspect there are a bunch of boards out there waiting to be built - but many are already forgotten in a pile of other projects that have never been built and probably never will be!

It's quite surprising how much of my kit is now DIY stuff. I've got several phonostages, PSU's, speed controllers all work exceptionally well and cost considerably less than commercial stuff.
