I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Karma Andy.

Oh dear, no pressure! I often wonder at how well my system "renders" a soundstage or how good it's resolution is compared to other systems. Probably not very good! :D

Erm... you have heard other systems though - doesn’t that answer your questions?

well for the last 2 weekends ive been trying to improve the karma cables, what i have found is there is a definite point or wall that is reached . when that happens no amount of additional wire or different gauge does anything to improve or diminish the sound.

i also think different metals add their own character to the signal which is what we hear when using copper or silver.the good thing is you can custom this to your tastes.
sorry if you know this already but to me its what ive learnt so far in my experiments.

Right well that didn't start too well. I think that one of the cables must be damaged I got a massive ground loop hum that only occurs when I put the Karma cables in my valve system, otherwise other IC's work ok. I'm really saddened by this. Do you want the cables sending back to yourself for repair?

I've not checked. In the dim and distant past I used to design and sell IC's, it just sounds like the ground has become detached. I could have checked this and repaired in my garage quite easily but I've left the IC's alone purely out of respect. I think you also might want to have a look at your RCA's as well. It looks the silver plating has been scored off (? continued removal from one component to another?). I'm gutted really as I fancied a night of single malt and listening to your cables. Now it's back to the boring old Mark Grant jobbies I have sitting in doing duties.

cheers andy, thats crap about the plugs considering they are £50! you would have had a nightmare trying to repair them as everything is glued down to stop wandering hands and eyes :D
when they come back i'll check them out and get them back to you ASAP.

That's great. Just out of interest, are they shielded in any way. I only ask because it may highlight a grounding/earthing issue with my own system, one which may be producing a little excessive hum in my Tannoy's. :?:
